So here I am sitting in the office waiting for our copy editor to send me stories. It's kind of impossible to layout a newspaper without stories. So instead of playing elevator music, I think I'll do a weekend recap.

It felt great to sleep in on Thanksgiving. I decided not to do much that day and just laid low. So I played games with my sisters. Actually, a more accurate way to say that would be I lost almost every game to my sisters. I think I won 1 game of mancala. Good thing I didn't go gambling.

Then on Friday I did something I've only done once in my life: I went shopping at 6 in the morning on the day after Thanksgiving. My friend Will, his girlfriend Amber, and I braved Gart Sports and Big 5 in search of great deals on snowboarding gear. I found a board bag for $30 and a crappy pair of bindings for $45. Amber found shoes at Big 5. Will was the only one to come home empty handed. He wanted to check out Office Max but when we got there we saw a line about 100 people long waiting outside the doors. Apparently Office Max had hit their maximum occupancy and would be violating a fire code if they let more people in. Waiting in line at 7 am in 40 degree weather to save 10 bucks...sounds like the American way. We prefered the American way of going home and going back to bed.

After recovering from Morning Shopping Syndrome, I spent the afternoon shoveling compost on the garden. I actually enjoyed this because I was outside doing something physical rather than sitting inside losing another game to my sisters. Come to think of it, I think my mom bought a turkey that was pumped full of steriods because I was so restless that night that I went climbing with Jesse (Lunchbox; friend from camp). Friday night at Cascade Crags is surprisingly nice; it's not as crowded as you would expect. I met some other climbing friends that I haven't seen in a long time and did a bit of climbing with them. (Katrina and Erin were climbing the roof and offered to let me have a go. I didn't finish it but I made it further than I have before.)

And now this post is getting quite long. But not much happened the rest of the weekend anyways.

Mmmm, turkey sandwiches...
