Winter woes
I know, I know. It's been a long time since I've updated this thing. But life has been busy — more on that in a minute — and I just now downloaded Firefox in hopes that the formatting will not get all screwed up like when I was posting through Safari. Forgive me: I'm a new mac user getting used to a whole new way of using technology.
SO! It's December and I'm just a little snow-crazy. Ok, a lot snow-crazy. I wish I could quit my job and still afford to ski. Alas, I cannot. I'm stuck in the real world and must continue to exist in that realm. But that can't stop me from being a Weekend Warrior.
I'm moving again. A friend of my former roommates is moving up to B-ham to attend Western in January and he and I have been looking at apartments. We haven't secured anything yet, but I will let you know when I do, for there shall be a fantabulous house-warming party complete will hors d'ourvres and famous people.
I'm also looking for a new car. The Little Red Subi has finally decided that it no longer wants to run, so I will respect its "do not resuscitate" order, as stated on its new title. Here's what I'm looking for now: 1996-2000 Subaru Outback, under 150K miles, manual transmission, no leather, no power windows, no sub woofers, and no mechanical problems. This week I'll be going to the bank to see how much money they will loan me; or rather, how much money I can afford to borrow.
The car troubles continue. It snowed in town yesterday and even though I have never driven the tofu-burner (read: Hyundai) in the snow, I went out anyway. Paul was in town for the weekend and we needed to look at an apartment. So after checking out the place and then going out to breakfast, I dropped Paul off at his car. It was snowing even more now, but I was feeling confident about how the car was handling. That's when I ran into a curb, squashing the front right wheel a little bit. Great. However, I think my ego is damaged more than the car. I'll take it to a tire company tomorrow.
Anywhere you go its the same price, money worries.

Your Subi talk is turning me on!
Your car sounds pretty much like mine, except mine is slightly newer, and with power windows. I'm not sure you'll be able to find one in those years without power windows...but everything else should be pretty easy to find.

Good news! The Hyundai is fixed and rolling again. Now if I can just afford that expensive tofu that it likes...

And what's so great about power windows anyway?!?! I think they're dumb.
