November is one of my favorite months, along with February and July. Notice that two of my favorite months occur in the winter. Well, I made it through my first full deadline schedule. To be blunt: I got rocked. I worked about 50 hours last week trying to get my stuff done. That's good inspiration to manage my time better this month. And also to pitch stories that I actually want to write. I'm planning on taking an avalanche safety class this month so that I can venture beyond the red tape and not get myself killed. Plus, I want to try my new climbing skins on my new telemark skis sometime this year. After I learn how to tele. I'm learning how to use my camera (Nikon D40) and get this: my photos are turning out better! Whoa. No kidding. I love taking my own photos for the paper and I hope I can work more photoshoots into my schedule. Someday, I'll be irresistable to National Geographic and they'll send me to _________ to write and shoot.... and then they'll pay me the big bucks. In the meantime, kudos to Keith for landing a job at Fred Hutchinson. I feel cool by association. But don't stand too close to him — you could catch cancer. Alan: keep rocking the locker room and the press box. Scott: hurry up and get back here. I have some adventures planned for us. Ike — who just inherited a box of records! The Beattles, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and many more...
