On the air
My continuing search for employment has finally paid off (pun intended). I interviewed for a weekend news radio job...and I got it! I'll be doing newscasts and weather on Saturday afternoons for KGMI 790 AM. (Alan: any hints for a beginner?)
In totally unrelated news, the last three nights of sleep have been glorious. I have a futon matress and the frame folds up into a couch, but lately the frame has developed a slight bend in the middle. Quite annoying. So I took apart the frame and put the futon on the floor and the rest is in dreamland.
Continuing with the random updates: I have officially started my last quarter of college and I think it's going to be a blast. I couldn't have asked for a better schedule -- no class Fridays, one class on Mon/Wed and nice three-hour lunch break between two long classes on Tues/Thurs. I actually have time to reclaim my social life and get back in shape. I can climb at the Rec Center between or before classes; I have time to schedule interviews; I'm no longer spending 45 minutes (each way) driving to my internship, thus saving me $45 dollars a week.

Just be conversational, be yourself. The first few times you will be nervous, and you'll probaby mess up. Don't worry about it. You get over it. Just talk at a normal pace and trust yourself. You'll do great. I'm happy for you and can't wait to call into KGMI and complain about the weather guy!
Glad you can enjoy your last bit of college, I know I won't!

I start this weekend (4/7) but I probably won't be on the air for another week or two.
