I did it: I made it through week one. Well almost. I do have one class left on Friday but we're watching a movie. (Watching The Gods Must Be Crazy is a pretty cool way to start an Environmental History and Ethics class.) Here's a brief look at my classes this quarter:

Journ 350 Mass Media Law or "Be a smart journalist" class. This class is going to be intense. We have to read about a court case each week and write about how it affects the media. Kind of cool because it is about law and kind of not becuase I have to read stuff written by lawyyers and judges (who obviously never learned to summarize).

Journ 307 Reporting or "Let's write about Bellingham." I GET to sit in on City Council meetings and whatnot and follow local politics. Thankfully I am doing this in Bellingham, where there are numerous interesting things going on, and not, say, Lake Stevens, where nothing interesting happens and yet the Lake Stevens Journal still fills ~16 pages.

ESCI 305 Environmental History and Ethics or "Big Theological Ideas about Nature." This should be a fun class because I like Big Ideas and I like talking about the environment. The teacher is a young guy from Canada so I'm looking forward to hearing some stories about how horrible the new Prime Minister is.

PE 102a Conditioning or "Monday we'll run, Wednesday we'll play games." I was looking forward to actually doing something that resembles conditioning, like stretching and ab workouts and the like. But I guess we're playing dodge ball. Oh well.

In other news, this is the first post from MY computer. Since I am now in a university residence I get free internet; I've never hooked this computer up to the internet before so it was quite an ordeal. I'm starting to like it here in Birnam Wood; it's not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be.
I also finished reading Les Miserables, which I highly reccomend reading because the book is so much different from the movie and the play. It's very moving.
I might be going to Walla Walla for a co-ed frisbee tournament this weekend. We registered late and don't quite have a full team assembled yet, so it may fall through. I hope it doesn't thugh because I'm ready to play some more frisbee.

That's pretty much it for now. Besides the fact that I love Springtime. And records. Especially when I have them hooked up to my roommates big speakers.

...and you may ask yourself, how did I get here?
