What could be better than spending an entire weekend playing ultimate frisbee? Perhaps winning every game... but that doesn't really matter. The PLU BBQ was fun even though we won 2 games and lost 4. We still played great and I caught three scoring throws. (Booyah!) What made this tournament especially enjoyable was the nice weather; this was the first tournament of the year where it wasn't raining, windy, freezing cold, or on crappy cow pasture fields. You'll have to imagine how great it was because I didn't bring my camera. Between playing and yelling on the sidelines, I was too busy to take pictures anyway.

In other news, The 34th Iditarod is coming to a finish this week. My Dad and I follow it every year and cheer for our favorite mushers. I root for DeeDee Jeanroe every year; she's currently in 4th and has a good chance of winning this year. (Go to www.iditarod.com for the current standings.)

So why do I like the Iditarod so much? Because it is one of the ultimate tests of human endurance set in race format in perhaps the wildest land with the craziest weather. These mushers travel 1150 miles from Anchorage to Nome in temperatures ranging from 15 F to -50 F with constant driving winds. And the winners do it in 9 days. Amazing. Someday I'd like to witness this race.

But today I must take a test and finish an editing project that is due tomorrow. And then you can all help me cheer for DeeDee.
Ike -- can I major in dog sled racing?
