So every weekend I get a "Get out of camp Free" card--good for 24 hours of whatever I want to do. Sometimes I decide to go see if Lake Stevens is still there, sometimes I hang out at camp and find places to take naps, but this last weekend I had an especially fun time.

About 20 of us Camp K staffers invaded the local Mexican restaurant and proceeded to ingest all of their chips and salsa while they tried to get our orders right. I left a good tip but I have a feeling that as a group we ended up stiffing them a bit. Oh well.

So then a car-full of us went shopping at the Marysville Value Village. Even though I wasn't looking for anything I came out with a pair of slip-on Sketchers, a belt, and a vest that looks like something Marty McFly would've purchased at Eddie Bauer. Good times.

After that we headed back to camp and all jumped in the lake. I don't get to to do this often and it felt GREAT! I paddled around on a surf board for a little bit and pretended like I could surf on a lake (now I really want to try surfing) and then we swam across the lake. It doesn't look that far but it sure felt far.

And the rest of the weekend basically involved me staying up watching stars, sleeping, waking up and taking a shower, and then falling back asleep, and then waking up 10 minutes before our weekly staff meeting.

I cherish my weekends. I hope you cherish your weekends. And speaking of weekends, I will be in L-Town this weekend to celebrate Candace's (my younger sister) 17th birthday, so if you would like to hang out that night, just call me.

I watch the patchwork farms slow fade into the ocean's arms, the stale taste of recycled air..
