Late night calls
I got a call from University Police late last night. Apparently some drunk guy hit my car. My parked car. Thankfully a UP officer was there, saw the whole thing, chased the guy down and gave him a DUI. The Subi was a sad sight to see this morning when I inspected the damage: a broken tail light, a dented in hatchback, front tire pushed up on the curb. But hopefully that will all get fixed in a few weeks when I get the police report and call his insurance.
In other news, I am pretty much done with college. I just have a few small things to wrap up by Tuesday and I will all set to walk the walk on Saturday. This is truly the end of an era. I hope the sun returns by Wednesday so my roommates and I can have our sidewalk chalk party. (We're surrounded with naked concrete.)

Ain't got time to take a fast train
We did it. On Wednesday, Jen and I bought tickets to Costa Rica. We leave Sept. 4 and don't return until Sept 28. We've been contemplating and planning this trip for a few months now and finally decided to pull the trigger and buy tickets. Airline prices go up quickly; we couldn't afford to wait longer.
It feels good to have a concrete flight plan. No more wavering -- we have to go now. It will be a great way to cap off a lifetime of going to school. Plus, come September, neither of us will have any committments to stop us from traveling: we'll both be finished with our internships and leases.
The scary part is what happens after that. I don't have a job lined up yet -- Jen has good prospects here in the Bellingham area -- but I have a feeling that things will work out. Right now I'm just focused on finishing school. I can job hunt over the summer and maybe I'll get a job offer ofter my internship.
Ike -- Does tanning count as preparing for Costa Rica? Oh good.
