Three Word Sentences

It's been awihle. I've been busy. Time's been flying.

I feel ill. It's too hot. Popsicles are necessary.

School's almost done.

Today's Ikeu -- no, not a haiku, it's an Ikeu -- was brought to you by the Student Health Center, which is supported by my tuition money and has just confirmed that I have a cold. How does one get a cold in the middle of summer? I know this is the PNW, but it's not THAT cold. The sun does shine here.

However, I didn't get to splash around in the waves of solar radiation this weekend. I was inside the Communications Building most of the time for the first ever Bellingham Visual Journalism Conferenc e. As part of a class, I created a blog for and about the event, which was a different blogging experience since I wasn't just being snarky and detailing the events of my life to my dedicated fans. I had to write somewhat "professionally."

In related news, I no longer want to be a journalist. I want to be a page designer. It's not that I hate writing, I just enjoy designing WAY more. I have a dilemma though: I don't want to have a sit-at-you-desk-and-stare -at-your-computer-screen type of job. Designers sit and stare at computer screens; journalists get to go outside at least every once in awhile to find a story.

Ike -- who wants to buy a sailboat instead of a house

The last day

07.12.06 (3:48 pm)   [edit]

Today (Wednesday) is my last day of being 20. Not only that, it is my last day of being a transitional adult. Tomorrow I will be a full-fledged adult able to exercise all the rights our government cares to bestow upon it's citizens. I find it odd that the right to purchase alcohol is the last legal right given in our country, especially since I've been able to buy cigarettes for three years now. Smoking will kill me faster than drinking, especially if given a three year head start.

Speaking of last days, I'm crossing off the days until the last day of summer classes. That day will be the 27th of July and it will be a glorious day. It'll be a sunny day with a slight breeze and birds chirping, even if it's a raining and gusty and the birds are attacking people.

In the last few days, I have been quite busy and not getting nealy enough sleep. That's why I can't think of anything else worthy of mentioning in this world-class blog. Instead, I'll just dangle a carrot of expectation in front of you by promising an interesting post soon about something political, economical, social, theoretical, practical, inspirational, and perhaps even interesting-al. Intrigued yet?

Ike -- wishing myself a happy birthday
