New Photos From Camp!
Just in case any of you doubted that I am actually working at a summer camp, I have just uploaded some new camp pics to my photobucket photoalbum. Just click on the link on the left and go to the Camp K 2005 album.
I don't think you can leave comments there, but you can do that here. So tell me what pics you like and so on.

Weekend T.O.'s
So every weekend I get a "Get out of camp Free" card--good for 24 hours of whatever I want to do. Sometimes I decide to go see if Lake Stevens is still there, sometimes I hang out at camp and find places to take naps, but this last weekend I had an especially fun time.
About 20 of us Camp K staffers invaded the local Mexican restaurant and proceeded to ingest all of their chips and salsa while they tried to get our orders right. I left a good tip but I have a feeling that as a group we ended up stiffing them a bit. Oh well.
So then a car-full of us went shopping at the Marysville Value Village. Even though I wasn't looking for anything I came out with a pair of slip-on Sketchers, a belt, and a vest that looks like something Marty McFly would've purchased at Eddie Bauer. Good times.
After that we headed back to camp and all jumped in the lake. I don't get to to do this often and it felt GREAT! I paddled around on a surf board for a little bit and pretended like I could surf on a lake (now I really want to try surfing) and then we swam across the lake. It doesn't look that far but it sure felt far.
And the rest of the weekend basically involved me staying up watching stars, sleeping, waking up and taking a shower, and then falling back asleep, and then waking up 10 minutes before our weekly staff meeting.
I cherish my weekends. I hope you cherish your weekends. And speaking of weekends, I will be in L-Town this weekend to celebrate Candace's (my younger sister) 17th birthday, so if you would like to hang out that night, just call me.
I watch the patchwork farms slow fade into the ocean's arms, the stale taste of recycled air..

Run Forrest Run!
What kind of parents send their kids to the mini week session? Our second week was short because of the 4th and we had the weirdest bunch of campers. We had 3 different campers run away 5 times; since I'm not technically a counselor that means I got to go looking for them. Yup, week two was Forrest Gump Week.
But now it's week three, the weather is looking better, I actually have stuff to do at the rock wall and ropes course, and I will be 20 on Wednesday. Life is good.
Speaking of my birthday, I have officially joined the soft shell movement. My parents bought me a soft shell Marmot jacket from Crags...and it's really nice! I don't know why I didn't get one sooner. Oh wait, they're Mega expensive, that's why.
Don't hold back....Galvanize!

Week One in the bag
Well, if the rest of the summer can be as easy as this week was, then I might go crazy from boredom. I really didn't have much to do: there were only a few cabin groups old enough to climb the wall and the ropes course. So I had to find other stuff to do like work in the commissary packing cookout boxes and sack lunches and also working with Inclusion Campers (campers with special needs).
And now I have a three-day break for the holiday and I still don't know what to do. Pirate, a counselor from South Africa, didn't have anywhere to go so he's chillin with me. If you have any ideas for stuff to do around here please let me know. I need to give Pirate a good impression of Lake Stevens...something other than Haggen's.
I discovered how to do 70 second movies on my camera and I'm having way too much fun staging goofy movies at camp. Again, if you have any ideas for something I could do, leave a comment.
And now it's time for the sun to come out. I'm bored of the clouds. What happened to summer?
